PHOSPHINE TOLERANCE TEST KIT
Phosphine tolerance was first detected already in the 1970s. However tolerance is man made by unproper fumigation practice! The reasons for this can be low dosage, too short exposure time, poor sealing or low temperature fumigation. With the Phosphine Tolerance Test Kit it is possible to receive information about the sensitivity of an insect strain to phosphine before and after a fumigation. Thus it is possible to adapt the phosphine concentration and the exposure time to a level needed to kill “tolerant” insects.
Mode of action
The Phosphine Tolerance Test Kit is intended for testing the behaviour and the activity of insect pests particular in stored products in a defined phosphine containing atmosphere. It is a very easy-to-use field test which can be applied within a very short period of time.

What to do if the suspicion of tolerance is corroborated?
If you have detected tolerant insects, you should immediately carry out a proper fumigation according to the following rules:
- Choose the maximum possible dosage according to the local product registration.
- Extent the exposure time to the maximum possible.
- Check the sealing of the whole structure to be fumigated.
- Do not fumigate at a temperature below 10°C.
